Overview

One of the major projects underway on the Oxford Rd Corridor is the redevelopment of the Former Royal Eye Hospital (FREH). This Grade II-listed building is being transformed into a new state-of-the-art centre for biotech businesses, including laboratories, medical research facilities, offices, teaching space and retail accommodation.

A new pedestrian thoroughfare will link Oxford Road to all five of the Central Manchester University Hospitals and the University of Manchester. The development is a mix of old and new, with the two elements linked by a beautiful glass atrium.

The Oxford Rd NHS campus is home to 9,000 permanent staff and handles over one million patient attendances each year. Two retail units are being created, positioned perfectly to serve the FREH, hospital and university population and are available to pre-let for occupation in Spring 2013.
