Abney Hall, Offices

Bought by Bruntwood in 1983, this building was designed by the architect August Welby Northmore Pugin, who with Charles Barry designed St. Stephen’s Chapel at the Houses of Parliament. The interior design was the work of William Morris. Originally owned by the Watts family who were Victorian textile dealers, the building was formerly Cheadle Town Hall where many famous dances were held. Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband, once slept.
