John Marland

Project Management Director

John has worked at Bruntwood since graduating from Bristol Polytechnic back in 1991.

He qualified as a Chartered building surveyor in 1997 and became a Board Director in 2004. During his time at Bruntwood, John has been responsible for many of the company’s development projects, including the construction of the £30m new-build office scheme, One New York Street, and the redevelopment of Piccadilly Plaza. Beyond development work, John’s team also handles the refurbishment of all vacated space and the delivery of bespoke fit-out projects for customers.

John is an active member of the BCO and sits on the Property & Construction Committee of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. He is also supporting Bruntwood’s chosen charity partner, OnSide, by providing project management support for the construction of five youth centres across the North West. The first of these is the Factory Youth Zone in North Manchester, Bruntwood's designated charity for 2010-15.

John  is married with two children and outside work his time is mainly taken up with transporting them to their many sporting engagements! His own sporting interests include playing tennis regularly, golf intermittently and skiing annually. John is also part of the Bruntwood running culture, having completed a number of marathons in recent years.
