Each year we donate over £800,000 to worthwhile causes throughout our regions. Our staff devote over 500 hours each year sharing their expertise with local arts, not for profit or public sector bodies. Our approach has much in common with our approach to sponsorship in so far as we believe we have a responsibility to play a part in our local communities. All our activity, whether in the form of giving time, expertise or money, is directed through Bruntwood or The Oglesby Charitable Trust.

The Oglesby Charitable Trust awards almost £700,000 each year and proactively supports over 50 local charities each year.

Each year Bruntwood raise and donate over £130,000 to good causes in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds. This money comes via fundraising events conceived and run by our local employees and often involves our customers and suppliers, ensuring our charitable activity forms an integral part of our core business.

In addition to providing financial support, we encourage our staff to donate their time and expertise to worthwhile causes. Through our Bruntwood Cares programme every one of our employees is entitled to take two days each year to work in our local communities. Projects have included reading to children in our sponsored school, providing job coaching to the unemployed and encouraging young children to get fit at Manchester City Football Club.

Many of our staff sit on a variety of management boards providing advice to bodies including The Bluecoat Arts Centre, Oldham Coliseum, Pro Manchester, CBI Regional Council, Cheethams School of Music and Central Manchester and Manchester Children’s University Hospitals. This includes a number of public private partnerships designed to align the development of entire districts within our cities.
