In 2006 Bruntwood pledged to raise £500,000 for the New Children’s Hospital Appeal – the most ambitious charity pledge in our company’s history.
The hospital is being constructed on Wilmslow Road and Upper Brook Street in Manchester and will be the largest children’s hospital in Europe. It will care for 140,000 children each year in an integrated development that will host four new hospitals and is the single largest healthcare investment ever seen in the UK.
Our investment will be used to buy up to date equipment and enhance the facilities for the children who have to spend time in the Spinal & Orthopaedic Ward. When the ward is completed in 2009 it will treat around 450 children each month and care for children all over the North West who have suffered spinal and orthopaedic injuries from traffic accidents and serious falls or collisions. It will also care for children who undergo elective surgery for conditions they’ve suffered from since birth.
Our fundraising so far totals £300,000. Events such as an annual Golf Day, The Bruntwood Ball, Race to the Sun and Young Professionals networking evenings have taken place alongside smaller fundraising activities such as a sponsored 10km run, a sponsored Zip Line and an annual Easter egg raffle.
