Setting the scene for success with the Royal Exchange Theatre

Our relationship with the Royal Exchange Theatre spans over 15 years and has been so successful it is used as our own internal benchmark for building successful long-term partnerships with arts bodies.

In the early years our support took the form of a simple corporate membership but quickly become more far reaching. We rejected the more predictable corporate formula of supporting the 'classics' and aligned our sponsorships with works that were more reflective of our own business - innovative and keen to develop new talent.

And so The Bruntwood Bursary For New Plays was born. Each year we fund the production of a new play and each year we involve our customers, suppliers and staff, introducing new audiences to the theatre. We've even developed our own way of sponsoring theatre, one that isn't safe and predictable but challenging and not afraid of taking risks.
