Interesting facts
The site of Marsland House was previously occupied by the Brooklands Hotel, a large Victorian construction which was demolished in 1972. The site was then split with Marsland House being built on the majority, and a pub and the petrol station on the remainder. The original occupiers of Marsland were the Sale Sharks, a team of such strength that no fewer than six of their players, including Charlie Hodgson and Jason Robinson - were selected for the Lions squad that toured New Zealand in summer 2005.
