Benedict the donkey comes to WESTONE

At 12pm, on Friday 20th April 2007, Benedict, a real life donkey, made a guest appearance inside Bruntwood’s office reception at WESTONE on Wellington Street. The visit marked the launch of north of England property specialist’s sponsorship commitment to Lineham Farm – a residential facility for deserving children in the Yorkshire area.

Benedict was the first animal visitor to Bruntwood’s landmark Leeds office development and all of the customers in the building will have the opportunity to say hello, as well as find out more about the company’s sponsorship of Lineham Farm.

Bruntwood have made a commitment to sponsor Lineham Farm to raise £24,000 over the next 2 years, as well as committing to 2 days of working contribution at the farm per employee. Fund raising for 2007 will include events such as a golf day for suppliers and customers, as well as a sponsored abseil down the building, for anyone who is brave enough.

Bruntwood’s director in Leeds, Richard Burgess, commented, “Bruntwood have a long history of arts and charitable sponsorship and we are intent on continuing this approach in Leeds. Our choice to support Lineham Farm was not taken lightly, with so many deserving causes in the region. However, all of our staff are heavily involved in the decision making and in this instance, Lineham Farm came out top. Consequently, we’ve set up a dedicated staff committee to contribute to idea generation and event management throughout our 2 year sponsorship.”

Bruntwood have also successfully concluded their sponsorship of Macbeth at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, another sponsorship commitment that Bruntwood hope to be a long one.
