The Commercial Developer of the Year is typically awarded to the most active and successful developer in the region. Bruntwood’s speculative investment on schemes including City Tower, Lowry House, Square One, The Plaza and Booths Park collectively represent an investment of £227m on 1.6m sq.ft. of office space and to cap the year off, Bruntwood completed a £440m securitisation.
Development Director Peter Crowther commented, “2006 was one of our busiest years yet. The breadth and diversity of our development activity was incredible and our ability to deliver such ambitious projects is testimony to the quality of our team at Bruntwood. Not only did we deliver product but, more importantly we attracted many customers into our new buildings.”
After an interactive vote at the awards ceremony Bruntwood won Deal of the Year for their letting of Square One, a 132,000sq.ft building near Piccadilly Station. A 120,000sq.ft deal to Network Rail was the largest in Manchester City Centre throughout 2006 and a further 12,000sq.ft letting to Mouchel Parkman meant the building was fully let before the year came to a close.
