Bruntwood’s Young Professionals raise over £8000 for charity

North of England property company Bruntwood, raised over £8000 for The New Children’s Hospital appeal last week, with their first ever ‘Young Professional Charity Event’. The event took place in Manchester on Thursday 6th September and saw 570 of the cities Young Professionals come together to raise money for a good cause.

Bruntwood have pledged to raise £500,000 for the New Children’s Hospital Appeal over the next five years. Thursday’s event saw the total raised by Bruntwood go up to £178,000. Buntwood’s pledge will be directed towards the ‘Spinal & Orthopaedic Ward’, which is due for completion in 2009. Peter Mount, Chairman of the Hospital, commented, “We were thrilled with the magnificent support we have received from Bruntwood towards the New Children’s Hospital Appeal”.

The evening was a great success with tickets selling out rapidly and queues outside the Pure Space bar where the event took place. Guests were entertained by live music from local band ‘Married to Sea’, magicians, a gruelling Nintendo Wii competition, resident DJ and prize draws from a huge charity raffle.

Rob Yates, Bruntwood Customer Service Director, is Chair of the company's charity committee. Rob told us, ‘As a company we believe its incredibly important to give back to the community, and we’re dedicated to delivering on our promise to raise £500,000 for the New Children’s Hospital Appeal. Its great to see the younger people in the industry share this dedication and use their drive and enthusiasm to raise money for an excellent cause”.

Bruntwood’s Young Professionals aim to host a similarly successful and exciting event in the near future.
