Bruntwood go Superlambananas

2008 is an exciting year for Liverpool as European Capital of Culture year gets underway.
One of the most exciting and innovative events taking place is Go Superlambananas and Bruntwood are really excited to have signed up as sponsors.

The Superlambanana has become one of Liverpool’s most iconic pieces of modern art. Created by Japanese artist Tara Chiezo in 1998, the unusual artwork is literally half lamb, half banana and was originally designed to warn of the dangers of genetically modified food. It has since become on icon in its own right.

For ten weeks this summer it will be joined by a whole flock of Superlambananas as Go Superlambanana takes over the Liverpool. A 180cm tall Superlambanana has been specially designed and celebrities, artists, businesses and residents have been invited to showcase their creativity on the statues, transforming them into unique works of art which will then be displayed across the city and Merseyside region from mid June.

If you can’t wait that long to catch a glimpse of one of these mysterious creatures, keep an eye out for Bruntwood’s own herd which you can spot in and around our Liverpool office buildings.
