Bruntwood has pre let 33,106 sq ft of office space on New York Street, in Manchester’s city centre. Bruntwood has pre let two floors at The Exchange to Turning Point (10,384 sq ft) and The Design Planning Partnership (5,564 sq ft), whilst Faber Maunsell (17,158 sq ft) will take two floors at 1 New York Street.
Bruntwood development director, Peter Crowther, said: “These latest pre lets mean we’ve now located 11 new customers to New York Street in the last 12 months; a total of 76,700 sq ft. Even though 1 New York Street is still 15 months from completion and work at The Exchange has just finished, interest in the remaining 118,000 sq ft available at both buildings remains strong. Consequently, the street’s developing into a thriving business community as our public realm and building work continues to attract high quality occupiers.”
The Exchange is now ready to occupy for Turning Point and The Design Planning Partnership, but Faber Maunsell will move into 1 New York Street when the building completes in September 2009. In the meantime, the company is taking space at Bruntwood’s Lowry House.
Peter Crowther said: “Faber Maunsell wanted to establish a city centre operation in advance of 1 New York Street completing and our concentrated ownership in the city centre meant we could facilitate this very easily for them, all on one lease. Their occupation at Lowry House, until 1 New York Street is ready, further reinforces the fact it's not just quality of product and location that's important to businesses, but the level of flexibility and service we're able to deliver alongside it."
Gareth Jones, chief operating officer in building services, at Faber Maunsell, said: “We're delighted to have opened our Manchester city centre office in Lowry House, which is already proving successful. We're constantly looking to align our estate strategy with an ever evolving business plan and are seeking to improve our working environment and green credentials; as such, we're confident 1 New York Street will deliver. Now, we're looking forward to taking occupation at the building at the end of the summer next year.”
