The Routes:
The 55 mile Ellipse is a new challenging Sportif that heads from Knutsford into the Peaks, taking in many of the classic climbs of this spectacular national park. At 55 miles it’s a medium length but challenging course and should appeal to the serious cyclist.
The 55 mile route will begin at 8:30am.
The Mini Ellipse again leaves Knutsford on a circular route through the leafy lanes of Cheshire. At 22 miles, we aim to appeal to those recreational cyclists, those who are new to cycling, and importantly for those with families and kids.
The 22 mile route will begin at 10:00am
On the routes water/ food stations will be provided and at these points there will be medical support facilities provided by the St John’s Ambulance Team.
The event is being fully funded by Bruntwood; all the event organisers and marshals will be giving up their time for free leading up to the event and on the day itself. So every penny raised will go directly to the New Manchester Children’s Hospital. This is a fantastic charity that has created a wonderful facility to care for the children of the Northwest and we are proud to support them.
We are very fortunate to have Ken Fosters Cycle Logic as our primary partner and with there help the event is being sponsored by Claud Butler, High Five and Raleigh, so expect good nutrition at the feed stations and hopefully some nice event packs.
The cost of Entry is:
55 mile Ellipse - £18.50
Mini Ellipse - £11.50
Concessions (11-16) - £6.50
Which I’m sure you’ll agree is a small price to pay for an event of this type. So if you think you’re up for a challenge at the end of the summer months, dust off your bikes and please join us for what is set to be a fantastic day.
