North of England property company, Bruntwood have unveiled a 1.8 by 6.6m painting of Liverpool’s skyline in their Old Hall Street office building, The Plaza. The artwork provides the finishing touch to The Plaza’s brand new reception and entrance which completed in May.
Artist Gwyn Jones was commissioned by Bruntwood to paint a piece that tied into the city as well as providing a striking focal point for customers at the building.
Gwyn said “I took inspiration from Liverpool’s many architectural gems and the view from the Mersey really captures how beautiful the city is. I knew painting such a large piece based on this theme would really help to bring the reception walls to life.”
Customers have already commented positively about the new artwork which they say helps enhance the redevelopment work Bruntwood have carried out on the reception.
Chris Clay from Rensburg Sheppards, a customer at The Plaza, said “We get a number of visitors each day so it’s important we create that all important first impression. The new artwork, the on-site customer service team and Bruntwood’s attention to detail have really helped achieve this and we’re proud to be based in a building that provides one of the most impressive receptions in Liverpool.”
Bruntwood customer service manager, Jane Yates, who manages all 11 of Bruntwood’s Liverpool, office buildings, is particularly pleased with the new artwork. Jane said “When developing the new reception we understood the importance of providing a finished product that would both impress and provide a real sense of arrival for our customers. Whilst we’ve achieved this, the painting has enhanced our customers’ enjoyment of the building further. Over 3000 people walk through our reception each day and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of positive comments we’ve had about Gwyn’s fantastic work.”
