Interesting facts

Queen Insurance Buildings were originally built for the Royal Bank in 1870 and were one of the earliest developments in Liverpool to include the provision of separate speculative offices to let. A central passageway leads to Queen's Avenue, a quaint street lined with shops and offices. A little door just off the avenue opens up into an underground passageway which links the avenue to Liverpool's famous docks. During the war this underground passageway was used as a shelter from the bombing raids that struck the city.
