The Oglesby Charitable Trust

The Oglesby Charitable Trust manages a significant amount of Bruntwood's donations to charitable causes.

Members of the Oglesby family run the Trust themselves on a nil overheads basis, ensuring that every penny generated through the Trust goes to a worthy cause.  The Trust has now become one of the largest giving charities in the north of England, donating over £4 million to various charities and initiatives over the last five years.

The majority of the funding from Trust goes to good causes in the parts of the country where Bruntwood do business, as the family believe it is important to give something back to the communities where Bruntwood's profit has been generated.

The Trust's focus is to award grants that will create a real and measurable impact, with the Trustees deliberately choosing to support projects in the early stages of their activity, ideally helping them to shape the project and leverage funds from other sources. The goal is to give organisations a hand to get a project underway, with support through the first few years, and then to move on once it has become established.
