Sales and retention

A major factor in Bruntwood's success is how well we increase our occupancy levels by attracting new customers and retaining existing ones.

The sales team at Bruntwood is responsible for identifying and bringing in new business, working closely with other departments to generate new leads, evaluate customer requirements and match them with the best premises to suit their business.

Here's what some of the team members have to say about working at Bruntwood:

"One of the biggest benefits of working as part of the Sales and Retention Team is the fact that each day is different and the scope of work is so varied. Working closely with our Customer Service Team, I meet with existing customers on a regular basis to negotiate lease renewals and provide them with options to relocate and expand within the portfolio as their businesses grow. Whilst I'm based in our Liverpool office I also get chance to mix with colleagues in our Manchester and Leeds offices. We meet once every two weeks to discuss recent transactions, ongoing negotiations and how we report this information into the board of Directors.

The other part of my role involves me trying to secure new lettings across both the Liverpool City Centre and North Liverpool office markets. I regularly meet with agents to discuss office enquiries, undertake viewings to prospective customers, structure transactions to meet the needs of both our business and the new customer and also work on marketing initiatives to generate more enquiries. Aside from the transactional nature of my role I also look at the strategic element of property management in maximising the returns and reducing the void across each building. Both parts of my role involve liaising with colleagues, customers, contractors, our solicitors and agents on a daily basis meaning there is never a dull moment."
David Seddon – Sales and Retention Surveyor

“Working in the sales team is a diverse and rewarding role.  Bruntwood make you feel like you matter and therefore you very quickly want the best for the business which includes minimising our void space, attracting new business and offering a great product.

The sales process involves much more than an individual team member; although the Sales team are the face of the process, the other Bruntwood departments actively support us and teamwork is critical to ensuring we can deliver the best service to our customers.

As well as developing my career, working for Bruntwood has, in a short space of time, offered me the chance to become involved in activities and events I never imagined I would take part in, including reversing a strict ‘no running’ policy to take part in the Manchester 10k run!”
